Massively expanded capability for our classic and cargo divisions aka CLARGO.  We've integrated classic schedules with our routes database and powerful search engine.  This way our members can look up classic & cargo flights just like normal airline flights using real world databases from Amadeus & SkyGuide.  Very cool!  With this tool we can expand our classic and cargo sections in a big way. First off we have new classic material for Air France with more coming soon. Credit for building this system goes to JFO Christian Chaix, Captain Jost van Vossen and Senior Captain Martino Sulmoni.  Also in the news. South African Virtual launches the Mango division, offering LCC flights within South Africa.

Air Pacific Virtual is shut down after almost 2 years in service.  Instead of being a full fledged VA it will be an affiliate of the FTG.  That means that new members can't sign up with Virtual Air Pacific but FTG members can still fly their routes.

Icelandair Virtual becomes a member of the Flying Tigers Group.  Icelandair Virtual is the first virtual airline in our group that is officially recognized by the real world airline.

September 2004

For over a month we have been in a legal squabble against the real world Cathay Pacific Airways.  Once again they chose to send us a cease and desist letter ordering us to shut down our website and pay damages.

We had enough of this nonsense so we hired our own law firm and responded in a forceful manner that they had no legal basis to threaten us and order us to shut down. We actually understand the law, we have the money to defend our rights and we consider the matter closed.

Cathay Pacific Virtual will not be intimidated by hollow threats, even by one of our favorite airlines.  Some real world airlines respect the flight simulation hobby while others choose to bully flightsim groups.  It is unfortunate that one of the very best airlines in the world chose to threaten one of their biggest fans. It's a disgrace to their marketing and public relations departments.  Shame on Cathay Pacific Airways!
